CORE CAPABILITIES

GNS NA is a premiere manufacturer of Press Hardened Steel (PHS) parts in North America with 16 hot stamping lines across our three manufacturing facilities in the US and Mexico.  Our focus is on small to medium sized hot stamped parts for the automotive industry and we currently manufacture over 16 million hot stamped parts annually, including over 10 million door beams featured in 34 vehicle platforms with different OEMs.  We utilize hydraulic presses that range from 500 tons to 800 tons and our process pairs dedicated, vertically stacked ovens and robotic material handling with our presses for maximum efficiency and flexibility.  We process a variety of materials depending on customer need and application. 

GNS NA through its Quincy Tool and Engineering company designs and builds all our hot stamp tooling in house in our Holland, MI facility.  This ensures the best quality, lead time, design change flexibility, overall cost, and tool tryout in a home line representative press.

GNS NA maintains a relentless focus on improving our stamping efficiency and has ample PHS stamping capacity to support incremental projects. 

HOT AND CONVENTIONAL STAMPING

GNS NA also does conventional cold stamping and has 8 cold stamping lines ranging from 100 tons to 1500 tons.  All our cold stamping lines are housed in our Holland, MI facility.

LASER CUTTING

GNS NA is a recognized leader in the use of laser technologies and we currently have 16 Trumpf 8030 series, 5-Axis laser cutting cells spread across our three plants.  These state-of-the-art lasers are fully automated and are used to perform secondary operations such as hole / slot cutting and trimming of part edges where precise tolerances are required.  Our lasers have the versatility to cut a variety of metals with varying thicknesses and shape complexity.

We strive to optimize design through up front Engineering and Development with our customers to minimize secondary laser operations, but when laser cutting is required, we have the necessary technology and expertise to design the lowest cost laser process. 

WELDING

At GNS, we use spot welding in the welding of Ultra High Strength Steel and Press Hardening parts.

Our welding and assembly cells are highly automated. We use automated robots to perform several of the most complex and precise operations inside the welding cells to achieve maximum cost reduction and ensure we produce the highest quality products for our customers.
