Receiving Hours

  • Monday thru Friday, 6:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • We will not accept shipments outside this window unless arrangements are made with Derek Tenbrink at              (616) 312.1045 or Contact Us by Email
  • Steel Deliveries are accepted at Door 13, located on the North side of GNS
  • Check-in is required for all other pick-ups & deliveries, at door 1 just past visitor parking, near front of building

General Information

  • All material must be tarped
  • Material Certification must accompany shipment (Chemical and Physical Properties)
  • 24” I/D 72” O/D unless specified otherwise
  • Surface finish – light oil
  • No welds allowed on coils
  • GNS part number on shipper
  • No cardboard or paper in coil wraps. No paper or plastic wrapped coils.
  • Bar Code Label must be securely attached to each coil with the GNS Part Number, Coil Number, Heat Number, and the weight (in English)

Coil Width less than 15”

  • Coil must be skidded (hilo side unload), unless two coils banding together standing up and the coils do not exceed more than 30,000 lbs.
  • Coils can be hi-lo rear unload if on a van trailer, all flatbeds (roll-a-way or tarped must be side unload.
  • Max lift 15,000 lbs.
  • 24” I/D unless specified otherwise
  • Skids – waterproof paper between skid and wood
  • Must have 2″ spacers between coils

Coil Width more than 15”

  • 30,000 lbs. maximum coil weight unless specified otherwise.
  • Coils will be unloaded with a crane
  • 24” I/D

Decoiler Specifications (this applies only to PO’s which specify decoiled steel)

  •  48” O/D max coil, with a max skid dimension of 48” x 48”
  • 5,000 lbs. max lift weight per skid


  • 4,000 to 5,000 lbs.
  • Skids – waterproof paper between skid and wood
  • Waterproof paper on top of steel
  • Hilo rear unload

 Entrance into our facility requires an access card or controlled entry from a GNS employee.
